Getting started

1. Install the extension

Visit the Chrome Web Store and click “Add to Chrome”. Confirm the permissions prompt. The LP icon will appear in your Chrome toolbar.

2. Open any webpage

Navigate to an article, Wikipedia entry, textbook chapter, or any page with text content you want to turn into a worksheet.

3. (Optional) Highlight text, then click LessonPilot

If you want questions from one specific section, highlight that paragraph first. Then click the LP icon in your toolbar and choose 'Selected text'.

4. Edit and export

Review the generated questions, make edits, then click Share and choose: Download PDF, Download Word, Create Google Doc, or Publish to Google Classroom.

Installation

I don't see the LessonPilot icon in my toolbar

Click the puzzle piece (🧩) icon at the top right of Chrome, find LessonPilot in the list, and click the pin icon to keep it visible in your toolbar.

The extension isn't working after install

Try restarting Chrome. If that doesn't help, go to chrome://extensions, find LessonPilot, and toggle it off and back on.

Using LessonPilot

No questions are being generated

Make sure the page has readable text content — pages that are mostly images or videos may not generate questions. Try refreshing the page and clicking the extension again.

The questions don't match the page content

This can occasionally happen on pages with a lot of ads, navigation menus, or unrelated sidebars. Try using LessonPilot on a cleaner page, or let us know via email and we'll investigate.

Can I change the number of questions generated?

Yes — open the extension popup and look for the settings gear icon. You can adjust the default number of questions from there.

Can I save worksheets for later?

Yes. From Share options you can download PDF or Word, create a Google Doc, or publish to Google Classroom. Google Classroom and Google Docs save in your Google account automatically; file downloads are saved locally.

Google Classroom export isn't working

Make sure you're signed into the same Google account in Chrome that has access to Google Classroom. If you have multiple accounts, try signing out and back in with the correct one.

I don't have Google Classroom — can I still use LessonPilot?

Absolutely. You can download the worksheet as a PDF and share it however you like — email, print, upload to any platform.

Privacy & Data

What data does LessonPilot collect?

LessonPilot only reads the text of the current page when you actively click the extension icon. It does not track your browsing, collect personal data, or store page content after your session ends. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Is it safe for use in schools?

Yes. LessonPilot does not collect or store student data. It is used solely by the teacher to generate content — no student interaction with the extension is required.
